The single greatest weakness of most self-published authors is a lack of effective editing. ‘The Writer’s Guide to Self-Editing’ is thoroughly ‘user friendly’ in organization and presentation, making it an ideal and unreservedly recommended addition to personal, professional, community, college and university library Writing/Publishing instructional reference collections.

Most of the topics present numerous, useful examples, sometimes showing an incorrect sentence construction, then presenting the correct one. Occasionally, however, the subjects are quite specialized: core modals, left-branching sentences, and discussing the ‘mandative’ subjunctive in the chapter dealing with the subjunctive mood .... Authors/readers can find useful information in this reasonably priced book. Public libraries and possibly school libraries should consider it.
